How To Shave Pubic Hair

Now it’s a question that I see asked around quite a lot – “Should I shave my pubic hair?”.

The answer isn’t a simple yes or no answer, there are many things to take into account such as why you would want to shave. Some women do it because it feels more comfortable; because it looks more pleasing; the preference of a partner; to make experimentation with sex toys more easy; or just to try something different. Whatever your reasons make sure you do it because YOU want to do it.

How Much Should I Shave Off?

Again, this is entirely up to you. There’s a range of different styles you could try and a lot of women opt for a less extreme trim their first time rather than shaving it all off. Depending on what you like there’s a lot of different cuts you could go for, the most common and popular being:

Trimmed

Bikini Line

Brazilian / Landing Strip

Hollywood / Bald

Step 1.

If this is your first time shaving your pubic hair, and from now on I’m going to assume that it is, you’re going to need to trim down any excess hair length otherwise a razor won’t be able to cut through that thick bush. This can be done with just a pair of scissors, however I’d recommend using a personal trimmer to get a nice even cut which is essential if you’re not going to be shaving all of it off. If you are going for the ‘Hollywood’ and shaving everything off then go ahead with the scissors!

It’s advisable to do this either in the tub, or sitting on a towel so you don’t get hair everywhere. If you can’t see properly you can hold a small hand-mirror in one hand whilst trimming with the other.

Step 2.

Once you’ve cut the excess off and trimmed it down to a nice length you can go ahead and get in the shower, just shower as usual but be sure to make sure you wash away any excess loose hairs that may be trapped down there.

Make sure you let you pubic region get nice and wet. This is important for the remaining hair to soak up as much water as possible as this softens up the hair follicles which will make it a much smoother shave when you come to it.

Step 3.

I recommend the Gillette Venus razor because I’ve found that’s what I get the closet shave using. But you’re free to use any other razor you find comfortable using.

It’s also important to use a woman’s shaving cream specifically for this area, such as Coochy Shave Cream, as regular shaving creams can be quite strong and possibly burn the first few times you shave this area.

Step 4.

Assuming you’re still in the bath tub you can prop one leg up by putting your foot on the edge of the tub and begin shaving. Start from the bottom and work your way upwards, being careful to go slowly and making sure to rinse off your razor after each stroke.

Once the skin on that side is silky smooth you can switch around and start on the other side.

Step 5.

With the sides done you should be left with a patch of pubic hair in the middle. It’s up to you what you do here, as you can see in the pictures above there’s a number of styles to choose from. Personally I prefer to be shaved completely smooth, but that’s just me.

Step 6.

Once you’ve finished shaving the area you can go ahead and wash it clean. Be sure to scrub well and get completely dry afterwards, this will help reduce any irritation.

It’s important to use an aftershave to counter any razorburn or dryness in the area. Remember it should be alcohol free or you will be in some serious pain, trust me – I’ve done it! I now use Coochy After Shave Protection Mist which works well with the shaving cream I suggested earlier.

Step 7.

That’s it, you’re done! Well, sort of, you need to keep on top of any new growth regularly to avoid irritation and itching. Although if you don’t like your new shaved look you can always just let it grow back. At first it will feel stubbly, but after a couple of weeks it will go back to it’s usual softness.

If you notice any razor burn or irritation a good aloe lotion can help.

I hope I’ve helped you make up your mind about whether to shave or not and if you choose to go through with it this guide should help you along the way. As always, if you’ve got any questions just add them in the comments below and I’ll get back to you!

How To Introduce Sex Toys Into A Relationship

It seems to be that the prospect of introducing sex toys into a relationship can be quite a scary one. So much so, that many women never actually get around to doing it.

Sex toys and relationships are not two things that need to be kept separate at all times. In many cases introducing sex toys into a relationship can actually help to improve you and your partners sex lives dramatically.

There’s more than a few reasons why many women don’t feel comfortable trying to introduce sex toys into a relationship. Hopefully this guide will help you to get the confidence to bring it up with your partner so you can both benefit from the added pleasure of having sex toys in the bedroom.

Are You Too Shy?

If you’re in a new relationship, or even an older one, it may be that you’re just too shy to come out with – “Hey, mind if I bring my favorite sex toy to bed with us tonight?”.

To be honest, it’s probably best that you don’t say something like that, although it is important that you let your partner know how you feel. What you like and what turns you on. Sex toys are a part of that.

It’s easier if you casually mention it to your partner outside of the bedroom. Making a jovial comment as you walk past a sex store whilst out shopping should do the trick. You’ll be able to tell by his reaction almost instantly where he stands on the subject. Once that ice is broken you can proceed to make the suggestion.

By keeping it light and fun there should be no tension and you can easily gauge his opinions on the matter.

Is Your Partner Intimidated?

It’s common and lot of men are intimidated by the idea of bringing sex toys into a relationship. They think ’sex toys’ and images of over-sized dildos and hugely powerful vibrators come to their mind (most likely inspired by all the porn they’ve been watching!). Or they can feel like what they’re doing isn’t enough to satisfy you.

You need to reassure him that you’re perfectly satisfied with your relationship and that you want to use sex toys together to spice things up a bit.

At first introduce him to something small and unintimidating like a bullet vibrator. After he’s comfortable with that you can move up to something more adventurous.

Use Sex Toys Together

If you’re just introducing sex toys into your relationship it’s always best to start with something small at first. You should choose this toy together so he feels let in on it and it’s actually quite fun shopping together for your first couples sex toy.

There’s hundreds of different sex toys for couples but it’s often possible to use your personal sex toys as a couple too.

Vibrators are ideal for giving each other a sensual massage. You can start around the neck and shoulders, moving down to the lower back and once you’re both comfortable with it you can begin explore other areas.

A vibrating cock ring is the ideal couples toy for use during sex. The ring stretches around his penis, giving him a bigger and harder erection, while the vibrating bullet stimulates both your clitoris and his penis.

Ultimately the most important part of introducing sex toys into your relationship is communication. Trying out new sex toys together and letting each other know what feels good.

Female Masturbation Guide

Masturbation can give you the freedom to explore your body and experience sexual pleasure without the need for a partner.

It can teach you things about your body you never knew and feel sexually liberated while learning new ways to respond to sexual stimulation. It’s quite normal for many women to only be capable of orgasming through masturbation. Yet a great portion of female society have negative views towards self stimulation.

Masturbation Misconceptions

Female masturbation is still a somewhat taboo subject amongst many women. Even in this sexual revolution where it’s frequently mentioned on t.v. (think Sex And The City), in songs and movies, it’s still not a common subject for discussion. It’s a generally accepted fact that men masturbate but since many women don’t talk about or discuss it, it’s generally assumed that they don’t.

Many women in a relationship don’t masturbate because they believe that their sexual activities with their partner should be enough to satisfy their sexual need. In reality many of a woman’s sexual needs are not satisfied by their partner. It’s important for women to understand that, whether they’re in a relationship or not, it’s perfectly normal to masturbate.

It’s a common held belief that the majority of women are simply less sexual than men. This is simply not true. Society has instilled in us this idea of openly sexual women being outcasts and something to be ashamed of which leaves many women feeling they should not be openly sexual or have strong sexual desires.

Why Should I Masturbate?

Quite simply – Because it feels good! Regardless of whether a woman has a strong desire for sex she should still enjoy being able to give herself pleasure. It’s perfectly natural for a woman to pleasure herself as often as she desires. Masturbation does not have to end in orgasm to be pleasurable and can be nothing more than fooling around just because it feels nice.

In any relationship there will be times when a partner is not available for sex, whether they’re away or just not in the mood. It’s quite normal for couples to have different levels of sexual desire. Most women have probably masturbated while they have a sexual partner, often secretively in the shower, but masturbation is not something to be ashamed of.

How can a woman expect to educate her partner on what she likes sexually if she doesn’t know herself? Learning about your body and passing that on to your partner can be one of the most sexually rewarding experiences you have – for both of you.

Female Masturbation Techniques

There are countless ways women can masturbate. The most common point of stimulation is the clitoris. Though it’s not uncommon for vaginal penetration, g-spot stimulation, nipple stimulation, anal stimulation, or a combination of the above.

Some women hear that others masturbate to orgasm using one particular way and think that they should be able to do the same. Every woman’s different and there’s no ‘correct’ way of masturbating, only what feels good to you.

It’s important to experiment with different techniques to find what works best for you. It should be fun and exciting exploring new techniques, whatever they are.

Masturbation Tips & Advice

Your First Time

For your first time exploring yourself it’s important to be in a comfortable setting. Caress your naked body all over – Explore your breasts, legs, thighs. Cup your vulva in your hands and stimulate yourself. Don’t try to reach orgasm, just let yourself feel good. It’s not uncommon to feel tense your first time out but it’s important to try and stay relaxed. Breath deeply. The goal of this is not to have an orgasm but to feel comfortable and relaxed while making yourself feel good.

Once you become more comfortable exploring your body you can try more direct stimulation. Slip your fingers between your labia and let them slide up to the top of your vulva and gently caress your clitoris up and down. Insert a finger into your vagina or maybe two.

It’s common to not reach the point of orgasm the first few times you try, but don’t feel disheartened, just enjoy yourself and the orgasm will come.

Clitoral Stimulation

You can use your hands and fingers to stimulate your clitoris. Rub, stroke, caress, the clitoris with your fingers. Direct stimulation of the clitoris may be too intense so it may be necessary to do so through your clitoral hood or through a layer of clothing. Find what works for you.

Clitoral stimulation is also commonly practiced with clitoral vibrators and can provide a much greater sensation than using your fingers alone.

G-Spot Stimulation

Often it’s easiest to find and stimulate the g-spot with the use of a g-spot vibrator or dildo. The g-spot is located a few inches inside on the front wall of your vagina. You will know when you’ve found it as stimulating it should give you a greater sense of arousal.

Sex Toys

Vibrators can be used for clitoral, g-spot, vaginal or anal stimulation. Depending on your preference there are a wide range of sex toys available for all different kinds of uses. It’s best to read some reviews of sex toys before making a purchase decision so you can better decide which one is right for you.

Ultimately…

…there’s no correct way to masturbate or normal amount of times to be doing it. What’s important is that you feel comfortable and enjoy the pleasure it brings you.

Beginner’s Guide To Sex Toys

Vibrators

Clitoral stimulation is the preferred way for many women to achieve orgasm. This would explain why the vibrator is one of the most popular sex toys around.

There are, what seems like, endless choices when it comes to vibrators – Rabbits, g-spot, waterproof, bufferfly, bullet, egg, heated, hands-free…the list goes on.

One of the most popular of all vibrators has got the be the rabbit vibrator which shot to fame after being featured on the show ‘Sex and The City’.

The rabbit vibrator provides both internal and clitoral stimulation which makes it an ideal first sex toy.

Doc Johnson’s iVibe Waterproof Rabbit Pearl was my first rabbit vibrator and it’s still my favorite. It’s a perfect vibrator for beginners, being very easy to use, multi-speed & multi-function and waterproof.

Dildos

Dildos are a more realistic kind of sex toy in that they are usually shaped like a penis. They’re perfect for women who need internal stimulation to orgasm such as g-spot stimulation.

The most popular dildos are generally realistic dildos because they can feel just like the real thing.

However, not all dildos are realistic. There are glass dildos, strap-on dildos and even double-ended dildos for the more adventurous girls.

My favorite dildo has got to be the Vibratex Silky. It was featured in the movie Burn After Reading starring George Clooney. What I like about this dildo so much is how real it feels when it’s inside of you and that it’s the perfect length for g-spot stimulation.

Anal Toys

The idea of anal sex toys can be quite scary for a first-timer. Once you give it a try you’ll realize just how pleasurable it is to stimulate this area of your body.

The three main kinds of anal sex toys are butt plugs, anal beads and anal dildos.

Of these three the best sex toy to introduce yourself to anal play is probably anal beads because of how easy they are to use and they’re available in much smaller sizes to get you used to the sensation before going bigger.

Anal beads come as a string of beads graduating in size from small to large. Start off with the small ones, gradually going bigger and bigger as you get more comfortable.

A good anal toy for the beginner is the Crystal Chic Wand. The beads are graduated in size along it’s length and it even vibrates making it perfect for both and and vaginal stimulation.

Remember: It’s important to use lubrication when using any kind of anal sex toy to avoid a painful experience.

Even More Sex Toys?!

Yes, that’s right. There are even more different types of sex toys but the ones above should be more than enough to keep a sex toy beginner entertained for a long time.

Be sure to check back soon as I’m working on a sex toys guide for the more experienced and adventurous – you won’t want to miss it!

10 Tips To Host A Sex Toy Party

I’ve recently hosted a few sex toy parties for my girlfriends and I and one question I get asked a lot is how to go about organizing a sex toy party. To be honest the process is quite simple, but after hosting a few you learn some tricks to make the event go smoothly. I thought I’d share them here as hosting a sex toy party is a very satisfying feeling, not to mention the free sex toys you can get out of it!

The first thing to do is to obviously gauge interest from your girlfriends how many would actually be interested in attending. There’s no use having a party with nobody there. Having one to celebrate a bachelorette or birthday party is usually a good time as a lot more people will be eager to attend.

Once you’re sure you’ll have guests it’s time to get started with the planning!

Tip 1

As the host of a sex toy party you’re often entitled to some free toys from the company you’re hosting the party for. Don’t forget to ask before booking the party what you’re entitled to and shop around, some companies will offer a lot more benefits than others.

Tip 2

Work with your party’s consultant. They’ve usually done hundreds of parties before and know how to plan and host an exciting event. They’ll also usually have a set of guidelines you can follow to host a successful sex toy party. Be sure your consultant is working with you, some like to take full control and ignore your input, you’ll have a much better time if your consultant listens to what you want and lets you take a part in the planning.

Tip 3

You should have already got a general idea of how many people are likely to attend but it’s important still that you invite lots and lots of your friends. The general rule is that, no matter how many people you invite, only about 1/2 will reply to say they’re coming and then only about 1/2 of those will actually turn up to the party. So the more people you invite the better. As the host it’s your responsibility to follow up on these invitations and ensure as many people as possible are attending.

Tip 4

Of the people you’ve invited that aren’t attending there are likely to be some that would like to come but just can’t make it. Don’t leave these people out, be sure to send them to the website or give them a catalog to place orders. Do the same even for those that are attending. Many companies will offer extra incentives for orders placed before the party date.

Tip 5

Make sure everybody gets there on time! No matter what time you tell people the sex toy party’s starting there’s always a few people that arrive late. Combat this by telling everybody that the party starts 30-40 minutes earlier than it actually does. This gives people arriving a chance to relax and possibly have a drink before all the fun starts.

Tip 6

Make sure your guests know that this is a shopping party. The first sex toy party I hosted had about 50% of the people turn up without their credit cards, this is not good for you or your consultant. When buying sex toys privacy is a big issue for a lot of people so don’t forget to tell them that all ordering is confidential and discreet.

Tip 7

Don’t go too crazy on the drinks. Despite what you may have heard, drunken people do not spend more money and the ones that do often phone and cancel their order the next morning because they were too drunk to realize what they were buying. Drunken guests can also make for an uncomfortable atmosphere for other guests and your consultant. By all means, serve a few glasses of champagne throughout the party, but save the heavy drinking for afterwards.

Tip 8

As the host of the party you’ll be entitled to any number of free sex toys depending on how much your guests spend. Depending on what company you choose you may have a choice as to what you get, have a list of items you’d like ready before the party ends as there’s nothing worse for a consultant and your guests than having to hang around for another hour while you decide what you want.

Tip 9

Stay in your seat while the party is going on and wait for a break before getting up to serve drinks or snacks. If you get up in the middle and start wandering around then your guests will follow you. What they don’t see they don’t order and the less your guests spend, the less free stuff you get to order!

Tip 10

Remember to have fun too! Just because you’re the host doesn’t mean you have to spend the entire night rushing around and waiting on your guests. If your friends see you having fun then they’ll have fun too and guests enjoying themselves spend a lot more money which translates into free stuff for you…

I’ve gone with a couple of different companies for my parties, but my favorite was Babeland, they’re very professional and have a great selection of sex toys to choose from. In addition to the toy and shopping aspect they also have sex educators that do workshops on various topics including fellatio, g-spot stimulation, sex toys 101 and how to please your man!
